Ajer’s stunner: The Brentford defender chested down a Martin Ødegaard pass and volleyed it into the top corner. It was just his second goal in 44 appearances for Norway.

Haaland’s quiet night: The Manchester City striker was well-marshalled by Rúben Dias and the Portuguese defence. His only real chance came in the 60th minute. His substitution due to injury is a major concern for Norway and City.
Ramos delivers again: Gonçalo Ramos has now scored the winner against Norway in two consecutive meetings. He started in place of Cristiano Ronaldo, who began on the bench.
Conceição’s red card: The young winger lost his cool, arguing with the referee and earning two quick yellows. Portugal had to survive the final minutes with ten men.
Portugal Without Ronaldo: A New Look?
For the first time in over two years, Cristiano Ronaldo started a competitive Portugal match on the bench . New coach Jorge Jesus opted for Gonçalo Ramos up front.
The move worked. Ramos was industrious, ran the channels, and scored the decisive goal. Portugal looked fluid and dangerous without relying on their legendary captain. It’s a sign of the squad’s depth and perhaps a glimpse of the future.
